An unrelated computing term for a session expiring after inactivity. Worth separating from the recovery sense because the two appear on the same screens: an operator "timeout" may just mean you were logged out, not that you paused your account.
Preferred phrasing
avoid using "timeout" to mean a self-imposed break; use "cool-off."

Supports: Defines an inactivity timeout as termination of a session after no subscriber activity for a specified period and distinguishes it from an overall timeout and explicit logout.
Remaining evidence gap: Does not establish how gambling operators label this behavior, whether gambling screens use both senses of timeout, or the preferred instruction to reserve cool-off for a self-imposed gambling break.
