Using free-bet promotions together with an opposing bet to extract the promotional value. Frequently presented online as risk-free income; for many people with gambling problems it has been the doorway back in.

Supports: Describes matched betting as using free bets or incentives while betting all outcomes, commonly through opposing bets, and warns advertisers not to call it risk-free or exaggerate likely earnings.
Remaining evidence gap: A definition limited to two bets is narrower than all-outcomes cases. The claim that matched betting has been a doorway back into gambling for many people with gambling problems was not supported.
